I won’t lie to you, 7 days in Morocco is not enough to explore the whole country. But it’s pretty enough to have an amazing time and explore one side of this amazing tourist destination.
So in this article, I will try to give you 4 different ways to make the most out of Morocco in 7 days.
This week will start by picking you up from Casablanca airport straight to your hotel. We might visit the Hassan II mosque and the Ain Diab Corniche if time allows. If not, that’s how we’ll start the second day before we head to Rabat for a brief city tour. After lunch, we’ll drive to the blue city of Chefchaouen to spend the night.
In the morning we’ll have time to roam around the town and explore it all before we drive to Fez passing by so many amazing landscapes and scattered villages of the foothills of the Rif mountain range. Depending on what time we left the blue city we could also stop at the Roman archeological site of Volubilis before we reach Fez to spend the night.
On the 4th day, we’ll get to explore this astonishing medieval-times Medina and maybe go on a shopping spree if you’re into authentic handmade products. And also we’ll get to taste some really good local dishes as this Medina is the most famous for true Moroccan dishes and still keeps the secret recipes to tasty chicken pastilla and every kind of Moroccan pastries.
Day 5 will be a looooong drive on the highway so put together your favorite songs on a playlist and get ready for a karaoke party in the car with your driver. It sounds like a boring day but trust me when I say it’s not 😂, especially with a fun driver like one of us. By the end of the day, we’ll reach Marrakech and make a quick city tour by car to explore the different aspects of the city before we head to the hotel for the night.
On day 6 of this Morocco in 7 days it’s a city tour in the morning to explore the hidden gems of the Medina and its palaces and in the afternoon you will have a few activities to choose from to spend the evening. Then back to our hotel for the night.
On the last day of this itinerary we’ll let it up to you and according to your flight schedule.
On the first day, we’ll pick you up from the Casablanca international airport straight to your hotel in Marrakech (no matter what time you land it’s just a 2h15min drive) to rest and spend the night in your hotel.
On the second day of this Morocco in 7 days, we’ll start with a walking city tour of the Medina to explore its magnificent hidden gems and get yourself some handmade goods. And give you choose from various fun activities for the evening before we head to our hotel for the night.
After breakfast on day 3, we’ll head to Essaouira and take a couple of selfies with the famous tree-climbing goats and learn the traditional ways of making argan oil (you can buy straightly from the source) before arriving at the stunning port town of Essaouira to wander around its alleys for the evening before going to the hotel to spend the night.
On day four, we will drive by the Atlantic Ocean to El Walidia passing by Asfi and many more scattered shore towns. We’ll have some really delicious sardines for lunch in Asfi as it’s the most known city for it then continue on along the shore to el Walidia lagoon town for some delicious Oysters before heading to our hotel for the 4th night of this Morocco in 7 days.
The next morning (day 5) we’ll chill around the beach and relax until we get lunch and then head the road again to the Capital Rabat where we will spend the night.
On the 6th day, we’ll start the day with a Rabat city tour and get to explore the Hassan Tower and Mausoleum of Mohamed V before we head to the kasbah of the Oudayas and then to Casablanca to visit the Hassan II mosque and wander around it’s Ain Diab Corniche before we head to the hotel for the night.
The last day is up to your flight schedule and at what time we should get you back to the airport?
We’ll start this tour by picking you up from the airport to your hotel for the night.
After breakfast on the 2nd day, we’ll start by crossing the high atlas mountains and the scattered Berber villages on its foothills to reach the Hollywood of Africa Ouarzazate for a chance to visit the film studios and explore the kasbah of Taourirt. Before we head to our Hotel for the night.
On the 3rd day, we’ll start by driving across the palm groves of Skoura Oasis and climb up the roses valley to enjoy some amazing landscapes and get a tasty lunch with a Berber family in the mountains before we cross the Nomads territory to reach the astonishing Dades Valley and explore its milted mountain tips that resemble the palms of a macaque monkey, and also the famous narrow zigzag road known as Tisdrine. You’ll also get the chance to do a little hike along the valley if you choose to.
After some fresh air of the villages and a delicious Berber breakfast on day 4, we’ll continue on our journey across the Todra valley and get to learn the traditional ways of making authentic handmade Berber rugs before we head on our way and stop for lunch at Elkhorbat near the village of Tinejdad and continue on to Merzouga to trade our vehicle with camels and cross the sand dunes to spend the night in our desert camp under the starry sky of the Great Sahara Desert and enjoy dinner and a musical soiree with the staff around the campfire.
After breakfast on the 5th day, we’ll head back to our vehicle and cross black desert landscapes to reach the Draa valley and stop for lunch in N’kob village before we continue on through the palm groves to Agdez where we shall spend the night in our hotel.
Day 6 back to Marrakech across the first mountain pass of Ait Saouen to the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where we’ll make time to explore every single inch as well as have a taste of local tagine for lunch before we cross the high atlas mountain pass again to Marrakech for the night.
And the last day as always depends on your flight schedule. As we would hate it if you miss your flight.
This version of Morocco in 7 days starts by picking you up from the airport to Casablanca and straight to the hotel or maybe a visit to the Hassan II mosque and Ain Diab Corniche if time allows.
On the second day, we’re gonna climb up the Rif mountain range to the blue pearl of Chefchaouen where we’ll have the evening to stroll around and explore the entire town. Before we head to spend the night in our hotel.
On the 3rd day we’ll go down again to Fez where we’ll have just the evening to see its main attractions, such as the famous tanneries and pottery craftsmen practicing the same process for hundreds and hundreds of years, and then to spend the night in our hotel because we’ll have a long drive tomorrow.
The 4th day is the longest drive as we’ll start with a breakfast stop at the Switzerland of Morocco Ifrane then through the cedar forests of Azrou and make time to play around with the macaque monkeys before we continue on to Midlet which is known for apples. We’ll have lunch then continue down the Ziz Valley to reach Merzouga village in the Sahara Desert where we’ll swap our vehicle with camels and cross the desert to our camp for the night and a musical soiree with the staff around the campfire after having a tasty dinner.
5th day we’ll head down through many more Berber villages and towns to the magnificent Todra valley for lunch and a stroll then continue on to Dades valley to enjoy its milted mountain tips and narrow zigzag road before we head to our hotel for the night.
On day 6, we’ll start by crossing the roses valley and get to learn about this rare type of rose and how it’s used for so many things then through the 1000 kasbah road and the Skoura oasis and cross the Hollywood of Africa to the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where we will have lunch and make time to explore the Kasbah before we cross the High Atlas mountains to Marrakech for the night.
Last day depending on your flight schedule we’ll see what to do.
