This 3 Days Tour From Marrakech will take us to Merzouga, a tiny village on the outskirts of the Saharan Erg Chebbi. It is just 20 kilometers from the Algerian border where the asphalt road ends and the true Sahara Desert sand dunes begin.
Merzouga Desert is Morocco’s most well-known site for camel treks and desert camping. To truly feel the Sahara desert sands, enjoy a camel ride and spend the night in a Berber tent or a luxury camp.
The camel ride takes about an hour over incredible red-orange sand dunes at nightfall to reach the camp, where you will be served a great and luxurious dinner and enjoy a musical play with the staff around the burning fire.
However, the journey from the Erg Chebbi dunes to Marrakech takes at least 10 hours. The journey may be completed in three days, but we recommend taking it slowly over four or five days.
Begin this 3 Days Tour From Marrakech by crossing the Tizi N'Tichka to reach Ait Ben Haddou, where we will spend an hour roaming and discovering the culture and beautiful landscapes of that community. After that, we will have lunch there before continuing the journey through Ouarzazate and the Road of 1000 Kasbahs to Dades Valley, where we will spend a fantastic night.
After a restful night's sleep, we'll have a delicious breakfast with fresh air from the villages' nature before continuing our 3 days Sahara Desert trip by heading to the picturesque spot of the Valley. The trip to Merzouga is then continued by traversing the Boumalne Dades and reaching the Todgha Valley at Tinghir. Lunch on the way, visit the historic irrigation system then we'll continue on our journey. When you get to Merzouga, you will ride camels through the dunes to camp, watching the sunset and spending an amazing night in the camp. The Desert is a perfect location to experience great camel treks and camping underneath the glittering starry sky.
