The road to Zagora is rimmed by palm tree oasis and scattered with beautifully preserved mudbrick kasbahs and ksour, which are fascinating to explore. Fortifications that once welcomed gold-laden caravans are now open to overnight visitors who wake up to fresh boufeggou dates, bread baked in earthen ovens, and a slower pace of life.
