Taroudant's Location On Map

It is located on the way to Ouarzazate and the Sahara Desert, east of Agadir, and south of Marrakech. The village is regarded as the “Little Marrakech” because, with its surrounding defenses, it resembles a tiny Marrakech.

The Saadi dynasty temporarily used the town as a capital in the sixteenth century before moving its royal seat to Marrakech. The city now bears the appearance of a tiny walled market town on a caravan route.

It is a little too far south to be a day excursion from Marrakech, but it is completely doable from Agadir. It is located just south of Marrakech and is roughly a three-hour drive away from Agadir.

Draw a straight line east from Agadir to Taroudant. The most convenient method to get here is by private vehicle or transfer. There are, however, frequent buses that run straight to it.
